Blackjack is one of the most favored games gambled on in casinos. Black jack is also referred to as 21 or Chemin de Fer. The game is a combination of luck and ability combined with choices. The game has changed over a period of time. Players have specialized in certain abilities like "card counting," which allows them to shift the odds of the game in their favor. The game has been in existence since the 1700s. References can be seen in historical scriptures to a game known as "vingt-et-un," which means twenty one in French, and is considered the precursor to black jack.
The card game was at first not very well-liked in the US. This caused the betting houses attempting a number of things like providing a bonus in case of a 10-to-1 pay out, if the black jack player was dealt a "black" jack and an ace of spades. The jack could be either the jack of clubs or jack of spades. Once the game got well-known, the bonus payout soon vanished from the rules.
Any hand which achieves a sum of twenty one is considered a winner. The value should not exceed twenty one, if it does the hand is considered to be "bust." The target of every player is to best the casino. If both the black jack player and the dealer have an identical score, it’s referred to as a "push" (a tie), with neither the blackjack player or the croupier winning the hand.
